At the Executive
Committee meeting dated 12 the July 86 Sri Feroze H. Ali
apprised the meeting regarding the developments of the
TURABBHAI MURDER CASE.
SYNOPSIS OF THE CASE :-
On 10th
July 1984, outside a shop known as ASIAN TRAOINGAGENCY at 11
Clive Row; Calcutta; the accused persons who were members of
the South Burrabazar Shops Employees Union were deemed to have
formed an unlawful assembly as some of them were armed and
shouting provocative slogans threatening MULLA TURABHAI aged
68 'jears Senior Partner of Asian Trading Agences, their
common object was to have their demands fulfilled by hook or
by crook regarding the wage and salaries of some employees.
Accordingly the accused person motivatedly dragged out Mulla
Turabhai from the shop and assaulted him with fists, blows,
slaps, kicks and lathis resulting in his death.
At the Executive
Committee meeting held on 8th March '90 Mr Feroze
H. All was elected HONY GENERAL SECRETARY to succeed Sri Rarna
Nath Mukherjee.

1-04-89 MR ASHOK KUMAR ARORA became PRESIDENT After SRI
AMENDRA PAUL CHOWDHURY, retired.
At the Executive
Committee meeting held on I9th August '91, the
members unanimously decided to apply to the Registrar of
Societies for Change of name of the Association to Calcutta
Chamber of Trade in Conference with Advocate Mr S. K.
Bansali. On 16-09-1991 the registration was changed in the
name of Calcutta Chamber of Trade. At the Executive Committee
meeting held on 7-11-92 The Hony Gen.
Secretary Mr Feroze H. All informed the meeting of having
signed the formal tenancy agreement with Landlords for the
Office room at 23, Strand Road, 2nd Floor,
Calcutta -700 001.
